Planned Giving<\/h3>\n

At Maine People\u2019s Alliance, we believe that we must stay the course across generations<\/strong>. Since 1982, we have worked to build a powerful movement that equips Maine people with resources and opportunities to lead progressive change<\/strong>. We want to be here to continue this work for another forty years <\/strong>and support every generation as they arrive to this movement. Your contributions can ensure their arrival is fully supported \u2013 no matter what and no matter when.<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

A sustaining, legacy gift can come in many forms, see some common options below. Gifts to MPA (a 501c4) are not tax deductible, but donations to our sister organization, Maine People\u2019s Resource Center<\/a>, will receive tax deduction benefits to the fullest extent of the law. Both organizations serve and empower the people of Maine to make and be part of effective social change.<\/p><\/div>

Bequests<\/h4>\n

Include a gift as part of your estate and financial planning by adding MPA to your will. If you are looking to make a will for the first time and don\u2019t have an attorney, check out\u00a0freewill.com<\/a>\u00a0to create your initial will and easily add MPA as a beneficiary.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Employee Match<\/h4>\n

Many employers offer matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees. Check with your employer to see if they will match your gift to MPA. You may also make a donation by payroll deduction through\u00a0MaineShare<\/a>\u00a0through our sister organization Maine People\u2019s Resource Center.<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p><\/div><\/div>

IRA Disbursement<\/h4>\n

If you are over 70 \u00bd years old, you may use the mandatory withdrawal amount \u2013 or a portion of the amount (up to $100,000) \u2013 from your IRA to make a charitable gift to Maine People\u2019s Alliance.<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p><\/div><\/div>

Life Insurance Beneficiary<\/h4>\n

You can name MPA as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy just as you can name people beneficiaries.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Stock Donation<\/h4>\n

I am proud to be including MPA in my will. I’ve been fed by MPA, physically and spiritually, far in excess of what I will pledge upon my departure.
