SUMMARY:Legislative Strategy Training
DESCRIPTION:This training will cover both the basics of navigating the legislative process in Maine\, as well as more advanced skills like winning funding for your legislation\, and asking open-ended questions to assess self-interest. Lobbyists\, law makers\, executive directors\, campaigns managers\, people considering a run for office\, and anyone else responsible for moving policy in the legislature will find this helpful. \nBecause space is limited\, we may not be able to accept everyone who applies. Please tell us a little bit about yourself and why you want to come to the training. Deadline to apply is Friday January 1st\, 2026. Apply here! Cost is $50.00 per person. \nWe aim to offer these trainings to as many people as possible to strengthen the progressive movement. While there are costs involved—staff time\, food\, venue rental\, and materials—the fee we’re asking for covers the basics. However\, we don’t want cost to be a barrier for anyone. If you can’t pay the full amount\, simply pay what you can afford. And if you’re unable to pay at all\, please apply anyway—we’ll do our best to accommodate you! If accepted into the program\, the trainer will discuss with you about payment options and sliding fees.
