SUMMARY:Communications Basics Training
DESCRIPTION:Designed particularly for communications staff and other staff or volunteers whose roles include creating and executing communications strategies\, this training will cover why we do communications work and basics about the media. Attendees should expect to leave the daylong training having practiced these skills and with a packet of materials to inform their comms activities. Staff and volunteers expected to understand communications strategies and play a role in their execution are also encouraged to apply. \nBecause space is limited\, we may not be able to accept everyone who applies. Please tell us a little bit about yourself and why you want to come to the training. Deadline to apply is Monday January 19th\, 2026. Apply here! Cost is $50.00 per person. \nWe aim to offer these trainings to as many people as possible to strengthen the progressive movement. While there are costs involved—staff time\, food\, venue rental\, and materials—the fee we’re asking for covers the basics. However\, we don’t want cost to be a barrier for anyone. If you can’t pay the full amount\, simply pay what you can afford. And if you’re unable to pay at all\, please apply anyway—we’ll do our best to accommodate you! If accepted into the program\, the trainer will discuss with you about payment options and sliding fees.
